To conclude my advice would be to only resort to Driver Booster in the event that manufacture drivers are causing problem/not solving existing problem. My last resort was Driver booster from which I ONLY downloaded latest driver for PCIE Smart card reader and another driver related to PCIE and this solved my issue. I tried to reinstall the driver from official manufacture website and also did all other possible fixes you could think of but the problem would not go away, extremely frustrating. Upon inspecting the bug report I narrowed down that Rtsper.sys (PCIE Smart Card Reader driver) was the culprit. So my laptop with monitor set up upon going to sleep would always result in BSOD (DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE) after a few hours of sleep.
